A Malted Barley String of Precious Drops

With last year’s whisky auction a thing of the past, it’s time once again to whet our appetite for the most precious drops of the water of life at an Online Auction on 18 April, 6 pm. Not only will the auction feature whisky from the verdant mountain peaks of the Scottish Highlands and the windswept coasts of the Isles, but Japanese whisky will also be present among the string of precious drops.

We’re already in a position to unveil selected bottles of spirits that are so unique that we’re bursting with pride to be able to offer them at our auction.

Golden Drops – Bowmore Gold 1964

From the legendary distillery comes a whisky which lives up to its creator’s reputation. From 2007 to 2009, Bowmore delivered the iconic “Trilogy” series. We proudly present Bowmore Gold 1964. 44 years old, it is the last and oldest bottling of the “Trilogy” series. Matured in a combination of bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks which, back in 2009, yielded 701 bottles. This is some of the most sought-after whisky among collectors and investors worldwide. And as the name suggests, these are indeed golden drops.

Seductive Fruitiness – The Yamazaki Single Sherry Cask

Over on the other side of the globe is Yamazaki, the oldest distillery in Japan. As one of the most recognised distilleries in the world, Yamazaki has helped put Japan on the world map as one of the great countries besides Scotland which can deliver whisky of the very highest quality. With just 506 bottles, the Yamazaki Single Sherry Cask from 1990 represents the Japanese style with a seductive fruitiness on the nose and a deep, almost completely intense taste. Truly a magnificent whisky from the distant shores of the East.

1 bottle Yamazaki "The Cask" Sherry Butt, Single Malt Whisky, Japan 1990 Oc. Estimate DKK 30,000-40,000.

Iconic Cognac Blends

We’ve expanded the auction so that it will also be possible for you to take home the best spirits that France has to offer. The well-known distillate, made from the delicate grapes of Cognac, will enjoy particular prominence with its fruity and eternally deep flavour nuances. This way, you can quench your thirst, whether you’re looking for the peaty whisky from the mystical island of Islay, or the iconic cognac blends made from drops over a century old.

The Absolute Highest Quality – Louis XIII Rare Cask

This cognac comes from a cask that is more than 100 years old and contained enough for 775 numbered bottles. These golden drops from the cellar of Rémy Martin were of such high quality that the cellar master could not bring himself to use them in a blend, which is customary for cognac. This is a one-off that not all cellar masters at Rémy Martin get to work with.

1 bottle Mg. Cognac "Louis XIII", Grande Champagne, Remy Martin Oc. Estimate DKK 36,000-46,000.
